ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF TRADITION
Our family’s wine history was born in the Modena plain, north of Modena between two small hamlets, Gargallo di Carpi and Ganaceto di Modena.
Growing up in a peasant family following in the footsteps of his father Ugo, our father Giuseppe always loved to say, joking, that he was born in a barrel, to testify to the great love he had for this that, rather than his job, has always been his great passion: the production of Lambrusco.
While moving, in 2011 with the entire production on the hills, we have kept the 5 ha of vineyards for the production of Lambrusco di Sorbara close to the historic site of Ganaceto in the plain; wine that has always represented us.
The Podere “Torre dei Nanni” is a great opportunity for our company.
NEW FARM NEW WINES
The choice of Savignano sul Panaro, in addition to the excellent quality of the land for the production of wines, is also linked to the strategic position it occupies, as it is the only country in the province of Modena, where there are 3 protected designations of origin (PDO).
Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro, Colli Bolognesi and Reno dop, so much so that this has allowed us to expand the range of our wines, thus creating the ‘Torre dei Nanni’ brand which includes all the wines of the Colli Bolognesi, both sparkling wines such as Pignoletto and stops such as Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Always keeping however the wine tradition of our family linked to Lambrusco unchanged.
TRADITION AND INNOVATION
The cellar’s equipment has been ‘transferred’ from the historic site to the new location, adapting and integrating them in recent years, with others more advanced and also expanding the number of steel containers for the production of sparkling and still wines.
The structure of the cellar was conceived with a view to optimizing the spaces present and to better facilitate the work inside; the ‘fall’ system was built during the harvest, where the grapes, once harvested, no longer come into contact with machinery, but once crushed, the must from top to bottom arrives directly in the autoclaves.
A long time and many sacrifices have allowed us to build a 1000 square meter cellar, with an adjoining barrel room for aging still red wines and which is also used as a tasting room.
New Wine Shop
From 2018 our company sales point is opened inside the barrel cellar where we have created a space for the sale of our wines to the public and where, for your special occasions you can also find our traditional Balsamic vinegar of Modena together with the typical products of the our territory;
During the Christmas period the wine shop will be open for your gifts, so you can give and share with your loved ones the best products of our generous land.
